Empire of the Clouds
Empire of the Clouds is an exhilarating aerial combat game set in a fantastical steampunk world where players pilot a nimble airship through an endless barrage of enemy blimps and bullets. With precise, flappy bird-style controls, players manage their airship's altitude while engaging in dynamic aerial battles. The game challenges players to balance their ship's health, strategic shooting, and timely reloading against waves of relentless enemies.
As the primary programmer, I developed the character controller script, incorporating flappy bird-style movement mechanics, a health system, and a shooting/reloading mechanic. This script ensures that gameplay remains both engaging and challenging. Additionally, I created enemy scripts responsible for governing enemy spawning, movement, shooting, and health systems, which contribute to the game's dynamic combat experience. I also implemented an environmental parallax system, adding visual depth to the game with a dynamic background featuring scrolling clouds and buildings. Beyond these tasks, I managed the coordination of other programmers, assigning them tasks such as setting up the main menu and creating a movement script for the boss.
